Membership Incentive June 2018

Membership Incentive Information & Rules:

  • Effective June 18, 2018 through December 31, 2018 (Membership Applications postmarked after December 31, 2018 will not count.)
  • Membership Application must be filled out correctly, with all 4 signatures required.
  • Referred by: ???????? must be placed in the top, left hand corner of the application by the applicant. Referred by name should not be scratched out for any reason.
  • New member’s first dues payment must be received before any incentive can be paid out to the referring member.
  • Incentive payouts will be mailed the first week of every month from Local 2337.
  • Membership Applications can be given to an Executive Board Member, Steward or mailed to Local 2337 to the attention of Cheryl Sneed. The cost to mail an application is one regular $.47 stamp.
  • 1st Enrolled New Member $100
  • 2nd Enrolled New Member $100
  • 3rd Enrolled New Member $100 + Hat (any currently in stock at the local)
  • 4th Enrolled New Member $125 + T-shirt (any currently in stock at the local)
  • 5th Enrolled New Member $150

In an effort to ensure you have no taxes taken, the incentive award total, for 5 referrals, has been kept below $600.  If the award amount exceeds $600, paperwork will be mailed and/or emailed to you.  Paperwork will need to be completed and received by the Local before any additional incentive awards can be disbursed.

Please email the office to make sure we have your current email address on file.  If someone you know did not receive this letter, please have them call the office to make sure we have their correct mailing address.

Scholarships for HS Seniors

The 2018 Texas AFL-CIO Scholarship Program is under way.  The scholarship application is open to high school seniors whose parent or legal guardian is a member of a union that is affiliated both with a Central Labor Council (or the ALF) and with the Texas AFL-CIO.  For more information, please visit the following link:

IBEW DUES INCREASE 2018 – 2020

The Delegates of the 39th IBEW International Convention held in 2016, approved several amendments to Article IX of the IBEW Constitution.  Accordingly, effective January 1, 2018, there will be an increase of one dollar ($1.00) for the per capita that is paid to the General Fund, and therefore, the rate for all members shall increase.  The following rates will apply to the International Office portion of all monthly dues payments beginning January 2018:

“A” Members: Per Capita:  $19.00  Pension Fund:  $18.00    Total: $37           “BA” Members Per Capita:  $19.00                                                                                       “BA” Members Pension Fund:  NA                                                                                         Plus monthly dues paid to the Local

New ballots, instructions and prepaid envelopes were mailed by the Election Judge, Wednesday, August 9, 2017.  Please make sure you read & follow the enclosed instructions so that your ballot will be returned on time and counted.  All ballots must be returned no later than Saturday, September 2, 2019.  Any ballots received after that date will not be counted.
